Okay, so...what if Kyla and Ser actually knew each other before Felix? What if Kyla isn't actually warping the world to suit her needs, she's just trying to keep Ser in her place? Like checks and balances kinda thing? I was thinking, because since becoming immortal, Ser has gained a lot more power than people know. The ability to read people's minds just at a touch? To heal in such a manner that no trace of the wound is left? These powers can almost be considered goddess like. What if Ser isn't really the person she seems? She's only the way she is now because of Felix. Because, after Jake died, Ser had no one, so only chose to fall fakely in love with others, but when Felix came along, she really did fall for him, and Kyla saw this, knowing that Ser would be a danger to her "new creation"?

In addition, maybe when Kyla confronted Ser on the issue of her power in the past, Ser got pissed off and that's why Kyla doesn't like her now. She thinks maybe that Ser is power hungry or something, and Kyla already knows that Ser is cursed, not by the crystal, but by her own personality. Because it warped so badly. I was thinking that, maybe when she was mortal, Ser was a completely different person than she is now, and Kyla knew that person.

Maybe the reason she's so cheery all the time is actually unintentionally meant to draw people to her. Maybe when she was mortal, she wasn't very fond of people. Of course, witnessing thousands of years of deaths would have warped her, and maybe, in some ways, Ser is actually insane, but since this personality is the only one Fe ever knew of her, he assumes it normal for her.
