Serenity's Contract

Okay, so, I got this idea from Felix's badger summoning. What if, sometime in Serenity's third or fourth century, she went on a personal treasure hunt into the Unknown, and ended up in a whole crap load of trouble with some of the creatures. Well, sensing trouble, a dragon(esque) creature comes to see what's going on. Now, this dragon is nearly twice her size, as opposed to the creatures attacking her, which were roughly three times her size, or larger. Thinking this creature was also there to kill her, of course she'd be surprised when the thing instead protected her. I'll take this in RP form, from after the creatures were dead.




The dragon bent it's neck down to peer at Serenity. Something was different about her. That something had driven him to protect her. It was clear the woman was still terrified. "Wh-what do you want from me..?" she asked, backing away step by step. Steps that the dragon matched. Swallowing, she spoke again. "Y-you can't kill me. Neither could they have."

At that, the dragon paused in it's steps, and spoke for the first time. "An immortal human?" For the first time, Serenity noticed the dragon's cerulean eyes, and her own dark blue eyes seemed to match the fur and scales of the large creature in front of her. "Make a contract with me. In exchange I will come to your aid when you require."

"A-a contract?" she paused and swallowed. "In exchange...for what?"

"Nothing you do not possess. You will return to this place every hundred years, and give me a century of your life. Then you may summon me at will."

Serenity stayed silent, though her indigo eyes seemed to be interested. After all, what would an eternity be to her if she could not defend herself? "I'm no warrior. I cannot perform a summoning," she informed him.

The dragon laid in front of her, it's large wings folded on it's back, as it's head became eye level with her. "Then we will trade eyes. And I shall see when you are in danger, and there will be no need for you to summon. All you'd need do is call. Does this seem a fair exchange to you, human?"

"Fair as fair is. My eyes would suit you," she responded, with little hesitation, which made the dragon chuckle.

"And mine you."

"How do you propose going about such a trade?"

"It's a simple matter. But first, I should know the name of the one with whom my contract shall be made."

"Serenity. Serenity Mizuraki," she stated. "Have you a name?"

The dragon nodded. "Syndryl," he spoke proudly. "Now. Close your eyes, and put your hand between mine," he spoke. And Serenity did so. "Do you, Serenity Mizuraki, accept the terms of our contract?"

"Yes."

"Then, bound by the exchange of our eyes and your years, I shall become your protector," he spoke, as an intense heat overtook Serenity.



When she next opened her eyes, it had fallen dark around her, and the dragon was laying, it's body curled slightly around her. Sitting up, Serenity blinked, only to find that even in the darkness, she could see everything sharply. "Human sight is rather weak in comparison, is it not?" Upon hearing the dragon speak, Serenity jumped. She felt no different, except for her sight.

"Was that it? What about the hundred years?"

"I've already taken the hundred," he spoke. "Now as long as you live, so shall I protect you," he spoke. "But that means not that you should wander carelessly into danger. You should leave the Unknown now, before the darker creatures come out," he warned her.

"I came here to find something, and I will not leave until I do."

The blue dragon sighed. "Then we shall wait until first light to move." This caused Serenity to smile, but nod. She now noticed though, with her new sight, that the dragon had her dark blue eyes. It made her wonder if she had taken the dragon's light blue eyes. The eyes of a Blue Dragon.

Oh, and a slight addition to this! The only reason Serenity doesn't bring Syndryl around much, is because every time she does, after he goes back to the Unknown, Serenity loses her sight for the next day. An unintentional side effect of making a contract with something from the Unknown.

(The reasoning behind this is because Serenity's eyes were not compatible with the dragon's body, and it eventually went blind. On the lucky side, the dragon doesn't actually need it's eyes to see, it's just something for show. But when the dragon disappears and goes back to the Unknown, their eyes switch back for a day. Serenity's eyes go back to their original indigo blue and since her eyes no longer work at all, she goes blind.)


I would actually like to bring a plot about in the future where Serenity is forced to bring Syndryl to her, and chances are, it'll have something to do with Felix. Whether it has to do with protecting him, or defending herself against the Blue Demon, should he lose his head again, I don't know yet. We'll speak on that further...

Gasp. This is amazing. Get plotting. I must see how this will play out.

Just to make this official, I'm going to put it here that Syndryl has a human form and can travel out of the Unknown at will. Soo, here's his human form:
