Serenity raised an eyebrow. "I'm strange? How do you mean?" She didn't bother watching him as he put a new shirt on, but instead placed a finished sharpened twig onto the small pile next to her before looking at Syndryl. "Never knew he could sleep so much," she said, sounding a bit amused. "The almighty and invincible dragon, sleeping curled up like a kitten." She chuckled, sounding thoroughly amused by the thought.

Felix looked back at her. "You're making weapons out of sticks..." The genin shook his head. "It's whatever, you like using sticks for weapons, then that's cool. I mean, you do have the dragon protecting you," he said. Felix crossed his arms behind his head at Serenity's little tease about Syndryl. "Don't dragons have excellent hearing?" He asked.

Serenity looked at him. "You'd be surprised at how useful a couple sharp twigs can be once you're out of other options," she told him. She looked at Syndryl. "He likes to think that I'm useless on my own," she told him. She then gave a light grin at Felix question. "Probably. I wouldn't doubt that he heard what I said."

There came a small snort as Syndryl opened one eye and "looked" at Serenity. "Of course I heard what you said. You may've taken my eyes, but my ears are working well enough." He raised his head, opening both eyes. "Don't be fooled, I've been awake since before the both of you," he said plainly.

Felix shrugged. "Whatever lady." He looked to the dragon as it spoke. It had been so out of the blue, that the genin nearly jumped in surprise, but he pridefully held his ground. When Syndryl was done talking, Felix looked back to Serenity. "So are we just going to sit here wasting day light, or are we going to get a move on?" He asked. "I mean, I can't exactly see in the dark, and I don't know how long that pass is."

Syndryl stood as Serenity started putting the twigs in her backpack, stretching, again, much like a cat would after getting up. Shaking his head a bit, he looked to Serenity for her answer. Serenity looked at the two, and stood. "Yep. Let's get a move on then. You're right, we can't afford to waste daylight." She avoided mentioning the fact that, thanks to Syndryl's eyes, she could see in the dark. "Lead the way."

Felix turned and headed towards Kokuboro's Pass. He already knew what was there. Outside the Pass there were two guards to keep wanderers from going inside. Felix however was very prepared to take them on. Arms crossed behind his head, he approached the route. Stopping a few feet off, he looked at Serenity and Syndryl. "I'll be back, stay here," he said. The genin dropped his backpack and jumped into a tree. Pulling off his headband, he held it in his hand as he went right above the guards. Felix threw the head band in between the two of them, making them turn to see what it was. The moment they looked down, Felix dropped from the tree and hit the guy on the left, knocking him unconscious. The other gave him a glare and attempted to punch him, but Felix was younger and more flexible. Jumping back, he pushed himself off the tree and headbutted the guy in the stomach, knocking him too unconscious. Felix grinned. "Mission accomplished," he said. Felix started to gather his things when he felt a breeze come from the tunnel, and it sounded like a voice was being carried on the wind. Shaking his head, Felix picked up his headband and placed the guards against a tree. He then ran back to Serenity and Syndryl. "Alright, let's go," he said as he snatched his bag off the ground and hurried towards the pass.

Serenity walked behind Felix, a little to his left, looking around every now and then. Syndryl was directly behind the two, walking at a casual pace, yet still managing to keep up with the two humans. Serenity and the dragon both stopped as Felix told them to stay there. Serenity nodded, and Syndryl said nothing. The dragon seemed to stare off into space after Felix left, and stayed silent until Serenity spoke. "Hey," she said casually. "What're you doing?" Syndryl turned his head towards her a moment. "I'm watching what he's doing," he replied. Serenity tilted her head, and said nothing. She'd forgotten, once more, that Syndryl sensed movement in order to see. He could 'see' everything around him. And a far greater distance away than what a human's senses could pick up. After a moment, Syndryl gave the equivalent of a small grin, looking at Felix when the kid came back. "Nice moves," he chuckled, following after the silver haired boy. Serenity blinked and hurried after them. "Now that's not fair, what ha-" she stopped speaking when she saw the two unconscious guards leaned against the tree. "Oh....wow."

Felix was confused at how the dragon knew what he had done, but all the same he was fairly proud. "Thanks," he said. He started to laugh when Serenity complained about how it wasn't fair. His hands in his pockets, he looked at his handy work. "Am I not awesome," he spoke. He looked at the entrance. It looked like an endless black pit. "This is it," Felix said. "No turning back until we find your treasure." He looked at Serenity. "You ready for this?" His blue eyes shinned, showing that he definitely was.

Serenity looked off to the side as the kid started laughing at her confusion. She didn't find it funny. "Alright, you're good," she said, rolling her eyes at his pride. He reminded her of a certain someone else. She glanced at Syndryl. Serenity too, had a gleam in her eyes upon looking at the tunnel they were about to enter. She looked positively excited, if not by her expression, than by her eyes. "Absolutely," she spoke. Syndryl said nothing, but he looked to Felix as if expecting the boy to move on. What happened was different though. Serenity started forward first. Now that she had a direction to follow, she had no problems taking the lead.

Felix was glad that he'd gotten a compliment from her. He was going to start forward, when he got that look from Syndryl, but frowned when Serenity went ahead of him. "Isn't she just all happy go lucky," he mumbled as he followed behind her. "So much for being a guide." Felix kept his hands in his pockets despite the knowledge that danger was possibly waiting right there at the entrance for them. Stupid lady. She's so caught up that she wouldn't recognize danger if it smacked her in the face....

While Serenity kept walking, Syndryl took a light sniff of the air. It smelled...empty. "You should really slow down," he warned Serenity. She stopped and looked at him. "Huh? Why, what's up?" Syndryl had to hold back from rolling his eyes. "Didn't you hear what Felix told us yesterday? This place is dangerous, not many ninja have come out alive. And you're no ninja." Serenity paused in her walking and sighed. He was right, and she didn't like it. "Fine fine." She'd been immortal so long, she'd forgotten what it was like to be traveling with two beings that were capable of dying. Syndryl slowly stepped in front of the two. "I'll take lead. If something comes out, I'll know it's there before either of you could," he said, starting through the tunnel at a slower pace than Serenity had set.

Felix came to a stop as Syndryl spoke. He was glad that Serenity had enough sense to listen and be reasonable. His blue eyes searched the darkness as Syndryl said he would take the lead. Felix took his hands from his pocket and pulled a scroll. "Zane," Felix said quietly. He dropped the scroll on the ground and waited as the smoke cleared. The badger looked at the silver haired boy curiously, but he was also bristling. "Calm down," Felix told him kindly as he climbed onto the badger's shoulders. Felix took a seat. He was not offering Serenity a ride, she was so eager to walk into danger, then she could keep on walking. How could anyone be so careless? Felix gave Zane's fur a light tug and the badger begin to walk after Syndryl.

(That thing's adorable.)

Syndryl didn't turn his head as Felix summoned his badger. Didn't need to turn his head. Every time he'd turned it thusfar had only been for show. The water spirit's words rang in his head. "Listen for the Call of the Sirens..." The very thought of those disgraceful creatures made his fur bristle. He sincerely hoped that had been a figure of speech. Syndryl walked forward at a steady pace, feeling Serenity's hand lightly on his side. Though she could see in the dark with his eyes, it still seemed she liked knowing her eyes were not fooling her. As the dragon walked, it kept all it's senses open to it's surroundings.

Felix was silent as the move along. It was strange how quiet it was. It almost seemed as if everything had just frozen in time. No birds, no air, no nothing. But he could have sworn earlier that he'd heard someone or something on a breeze. Felix shook his head. No, he was just being- A six stone sword came smashing between the group. Zane reared backwards, knocking Felix into the dirt. The young shinobi quickly got to his feet, looking around. He couldn't see anything, but he could hear footsteps. Giant footsteps that shook the Earth. "Um guys...I think we should run," he suggested. What appeared to be a giant statue appeared out of the darkness. It had to be eight feet at the most.

Syndryl stopped in place when he felt movement, stumbling a bit to the side in surprise when the sword jetted between them. While what came out was only a bit bigger than Syndryl was, in a place like this, it might not have made for a fair fight. Who knew how many of those things lurked in the dark. He crouched down a bit. "Get on," he told Serenity. Felix had his badger, and while the thing looked like a statue, the dragon wasn't about to take any chances when it came to speed. "Let's go," he told the kid, once Serenity was on his back. "We have to find somewhere that there's light," he mentioned as he ran, nearly stopping as he remembered the water spirit's advice. Stay out of the dark. Great. This was just great. There was dark everywhere! Had the thing just been screwing with him?

Felix held only tightly to Zane. "Move it," he told the badger. Zane didn't have to be told twice as it bolted forward. Felix was irritated at Syndryl's suggestion. "There is no light!" The young boy looked over his shoulder to see the statue picking up it's sword. Felix swallowed. So this was Kokuboro's Pass. This was where everyone had died. He thought they turned on each other, not murdered by some giant beast that wanted them dead. Felix frowned. Why was this place so damn important? Felix turned back and faced forward. "It's still coming," he informed them. Seconds later a sprayed of massive stones came toppling from the sky. Felix gasped and stood up. "Apollo's Arrow." A flaming bow and arrow appeared in the young shinobi's hands. Drawing back the string he shot off several flaming arrows into the sky, blasting the stones to pieces. Felix sat back down. "That was close," he breath.

(Dude, little Fe's awesome!)

Syndryl himself grew irritated at the boy's insistence that there was no light. When the rocks came raining down, Syndryl turned as if he were going to take care of them, but then came Felix's flaming arrows. "Then we'll just have to make light. Get off," he told Serenity, who did just that. Syndryl himself didn't need the light, but these two would not be able to see without it. Well, at least, the boy would not. With a light growl, Syndryl shot a ball of white flame into the sky, and not too far up, the ball paused in midair, and just hung there. Turning on the creature that was only slightly taller than he, Syndryl crouched down as if he were about to attack, before shooting off several fireballs at their assailant. While he wasn't a huge fan of fighting, the dragon may have actually been looking forward to this. He'd never seen a creature as large as he was, at least not in the human realm, that is.

(lol, why thank you.)

Felix was thankful for the light. Getting past Syndryl, he looked at the dragon as it turned on the stone guardian. "He's going to fight it," Felix said quietly as if surprised. He could have sworn that the plan had been to run. Oh well. Looking around, Felix could see what was going on. It looked like there was death all around them. Skeletons littered the ground around the path. Felix found this to be nerve wrecking. "Is this...a graveyard?" Zane bristled and Felix turned his gaze in the direction that the badger was looking. There was movement from behind what looked like a wall of bushes. "There's something behind there," he told Serenity. The stone statue threw it's sword at Syndryl when the dragon shot fireballs at it.

Syndryl heard the boy's comment, but focused on fighting the statue rather than commenting. He jumped to the side to avoid the sword, but only when he was sure that it wouldn't hit either of the two behind him. Apparently fire didn't do much to slow the creature. Trying out a different approach, Syndryl charged straight at the statue at a near invisible speed, intent on ramming it.

Serenity looked around with wide eyes as she saw bodies littering the place. Sure, she'd seen things like this before, but it never failed to phase her. "One would certainly think so," she replied. She turned in the direction Felix mentioned, taking out her dagger, and pulling out one of the sharpened sticks she'd been working on earlier. "Better that we bring it out," she said, throwing the stick at the bush like a throwing knife. She didn't believe in waiting for things to pop out and attack. That was just an idiotic tactic.

The lady was crazy. That was Felix's final assumption. He braced himself in silence as the bushes stopped moving. A kunai in his hand, he waited. What came out was not what Felix had expected. A small child. "Have you seen my mommy?" Felix blinked confused. "You're just a kid," Felix stated as he put his kunai away and slid off of Zane's back. Calling her a kid was ironic, because he too was only a child, but the girl before him had to be no older than six. The statue braced itself for Syndryl's attack, but it couldn't match the dragon's speed, causing it to shatter into lifeless boulders.

Syndryl stopped in place when the thing shattered. He couldn't go too far from Serenity. Turning, the blue dragon started casually back to the two, as if nothing had happened.

Serenity looked at the kid as she came out, blinking. Thank god she hadn't hit her! But...what was a kid doing in a place like this? Sitting on her feet, Serenity looked at the little girl, who was now just below eye level with her. "No we haven't...what are you doing in a place like this sweetie?" Serenity spoke, sounding confused. Something about this didn't sit right with her.

As Syndryl approached, he slowed down. Someone else was with the two? It seemed like a little human girl, but...Syndryl sniffed the air lightly, then froze. She didn't have a scent. All humans had a scent. Which meant...

The little girl blinked brown eyes at the blond lady. "I was following a bunny," she said with a smile, though it faded when she remembered that neither of them had seen her mother. "Oh well," she said. "I guess I should go find the bunny." She slowly turned and begin to walk away while adjusting her hat. Felix looked to Serenity when the girl turned away from them. "I know here," he said as though he wasn't even speaking to her. He turned back to the girl. Besides him, Zane continued to bristle fiercely, but Felix took no note.

Serenity looked at Felix when he said that he knew her. "You do? Then do you know her mother? Or why she might be here with her..?" Serenity asked. Syndryl walked up next to them, his focus on the girl. "You. Child. What are you?" he asked suddenly. He didn't seem to think his question unusual, but even if he did, it didn't show. All humans had scents. Therefor, it stood to reason that she was no human.

Felix went to answer Serenity when Syndryl went ahead and asked the girl what she was. "She's human," Felix said as though that should be apparent. The little girl turned and smiled as any child would. "I am like him," she said pointing to Felix and then she began to skip off along the path. Felix looked between Snydryl and Serenity. "Her name is Mekko. She's from my village, but, she's been missing for two years." Felix paused. "She's the one I was telling you about, the one that had wondered in here and all those ninja died trying to find her." Felix shook his head. "Everyone thought she was dead, but...apparently not."

Syndryl paused. Something was seriously wrong. 'The dead walk restlessly...madness seeks a new vessel...' He stayed silent. A dragon's memory never faded. It was haunting, really. He didn't trust this child. Serenity looked at Felix curiously. "This girl...survived in here for two years? That...can't be possible," she said, sounding a bit skeptical. Syndryl, however, kept his gaze on the kid. Maybe she really was dead. But...didn't the dead usually smell of dirt?
