Re: Transfer Mission: The Blackbird's Dilemma

Kana stopped singing when she heard a door close, looking at the clock. Felix was home a bit early. Not that she was complaining about it, but she wished she would have heard him come in. That door had sounded like it had come from his bedroom, which meant he'd probably heard her singing. Shrugging it off, Kana kept cooking, but stopped singing. It's not that she sung bad, it was just that she didn't like others listening. Either way, she didn't turn the music off. When Felix came in, she would, just so she could talk to him. She wondered if he'd be hungry again. It didn't really matter, since she'd made four burgers anyways. If he didn't want any, she'd just put two in the fridge for another time. Not a big deal.

Felix found his way to the shower, staying in there until about eight thirty. When he came out, he was dress in all black with the towel around his neck and his silver hair dripping water. Sitting down at the table, he made sure not to mess up Kana's maps and scrolls. "So, whatcha cooking?" He asked. (Dear lord, I just smelled hamburgers. Hungry.) He leaned back in his chair. "And whatcha singing." He leaned a bit further. "And whatcha wanted to talk about?" He asked.

(Lmao!)

Kana looked towards the doorway as Felix came in, sat down, and started firing off questions. She couldn't help but chuckle. "Hamburgers, nothing anymore, and specifics about the war," she told him. Flipping two of the burgers over, she pointed at them with the spatula. "Want some?" She wasn't about to talk to him about it while she was still hungry. They were just about done anyways. And yeah, she'd been sure to veer off that singing question.

Felix stopped leaning in his chair. "Yes," he said when she asked if he would like some burgers. They smelled good. Felix looked at all the stuff on the table. Did Kana ever give up with the paperwork. Hell, she should be advisor to the Kage, but they needed her in the Crested. Felix looked at his former student. "What about the war?" He asked.

Kana grinned lightly at how fast Felix responded to her question. It had only been a few hours since they'd last eaten, was he really that hungry? Or maybe her burgers just smelled that damn good. The thought made her smirk. While she couldn't cook anything really fancy, simple stuff with spices was something she could do. Taking out two plates, Kana moved a bunch of the papers on the table to make room. She took out hamburger buns, condiments, etc, and put them on the table before placing each of their plates on the table, with two burgers each on them. Sitting down, Kana started making her own burger up when Felix spoke. "I need to know the scale at which we have to wage it. I sent a squad out today to set up traps, just to catch Aidelia's attention. I know we're not attacking for another week, but I figured it would help to put her on edge," she said. "I'm training those ANBU for a war, but I need to know just how many casualties we should expect from this."

Felix took the burger without putting anything on it. "Zero casualties," he stated without another word as he took a bite out of the burger. "Unless you count those of Aidelia's people." Felix savored the flavor for a moment. "This is a really good burger." He closed his eyes as he swallowed. "We're not really going into war after all. I mean, we're only killing Aidelia's followers, or at least the Sand are. Let them do the dirty work, we're just setting it up. The Rock ninja will be fine, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be properly trained." Felix opened his eyes and took another bite. "I didn't know you could cook."

While usually Kana didn't put anything on her burger, today she decided to put ketchup and mustard on it. She gave a small grin when he said that it was a good burger. "So Aidelia's people are only going in as front line infantry. If they all know each other, you don't think they'll know something is up?" She nodded lightly when Felix said they should still be properly trained. "Yeah, that much I got covered." She blinked when he made that statement about her being able to cook. "It's nothing gourmet, but I can cook here and there. I used to cook for my parents when they came home from missions, I guess it just stuck with me," she told him with a shrug, taking a bite of her own burger.

Felix nodded. "I've taken that into account. Don't you worry your little head about that, I have it all covered." Felix grinned lightly. It was one of his more devious grins that people worried about. It had slipped. Felix took another bite of his burger. "I should have met your parents then. I could have been invited to dinner." Felix gave a friendlier grin at that statement. He looked at Kana curiously. "That all?" He asked.

Kana tilted her head and raised an eyebrow when Felix grinned and told her not to worry. "Mind letting me in? I'd rather worry about it than be caught unawares," she told him. She knew she wouldn't be at the war, but she still wanted to know. Kana nearly laughed when Felix said he wished he'd known her parents. "It's probably a good thing you didn't. I was never very good with company over," she told him with a small grin. Considering she just asked about his plans, she didn't bother answering the 'is that all' question.

Felix shook his head. "Oh no, that's my little secret. It's best you not know about it. Trust me." Felix shrugged. "It's not something too serious, but if you know about it and Aidelia gets a hold of you, things might fall apart, and that shall not happen. "Sorry." He took the final bite of his burger. "If that's the case I would have completely denied training you to began with," he murmured. She'd had the worst attitude of any student he'd ever taken on. Felix sighed at the rather unpleasant memories.

Kana frowned when he said that was his little secret. She looked off to the side a bit angrily when he mentioned Aidelia getting a hold of her. Yeah, now that was going to stick with her forever. If she ever got the chance, she was going to kill that woman. She shrugged when he apologized. "No need. It's an understandable concern." She looked at him when he said he would have completely denied training her. "What are you talking about? When you first met me, you did completely deny training me." Those memories were unpleasant for her too. When she'd first met him, he'd made her feel like the smallest speck in the universe. When she'd first started with him, she'd actually began hating him the very first day. Funny how things had turned out.

Felix turned his blue gaze on the brown haired girl. "If I had completely denied your training, you wouldn't be calling me sensei," he told her. "Besides, I had my reasons. You were a brat. I don't care much for whiny brats who think they can get their way because they think they're the best. There will always be someone out there better," he told her. That went for him as well. He may have been a good ninja, but he had met his match several times over and over again. Whether he liked being taken down or not, it happened.

Kana merely rolled her eyes. "You know why I used to act like that," she told him. She hadn't exactly changed much. Only now her vocabulary was a bit more...colorful, than what it'd used to be. Kana couldn't help but give a small grin at Felix's words. "Oh, so you're saying there's someone out there better than you too?" Though she knew every ninja had his match, it was hard to believe her sensei had one. To be honest, she was probably even a match for him now, but she'd never admit it, not to herself, and not to anyone else. She still looked up to the guy, after all.

Felix merely gave her a glance when she said he knew why she used to act like that. "No excuses," was his response. When Kana gave a grin and asked about him having matched his skills, he simply nodded. Felix, unlike most ninja despite his strength and abilities, was not full of himself. "Yes." Felix looked down at the table, his blue eyes going blank. We haven't had a regular conversation like this in weeks. I wonder how long it'll last. Felix held back a sigh. He didn't plan on waiting for the conversation to turn sour. "The food was good, but it's time for me to go to sleep. I have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow. I'll see you later." He stood up and nodded to Snickers. "And make sure to feed him, okay?" With that he started for his room.

Kana shrugged when he said no excuses. It was in the past, so no use in arguing about it now. "You say that like you've actually met this person before," she said with a raised eyebrow. She didn't dare say people. When he got up, saying how he had to go to bed, Kana blinked. That was a bit unexpected. "Um yeah. G'night," she said. "Right." She watched him go out of the kitchen. She hadn't realized it until now, but that had been a rather normal conversation. They hadn't mentioned the mission once. Sighing, Kana stood up and put the dishes in the sink. She still had work to do on the scrolls, so she wasn't going to bed just yet...but regardless, she did put some food into Snickers's bowl.

Felix has nearly stopped to tell her that he had, many times over, but decided against it. He was leaving to end the conversation, not continue it. As he lay down in his bed, exhaustion swept over him. "I pray I dream tonight." Felix closed his eyes and let sleep wash over him. Unfortunately he didn't dream, leaving him quite bothered when he woke up the next morning. Why had Meridian visited him when he was conscious? And why was she visiting so often. Felix wanted answers, but they never came so easily when you were speaking with the dead. He sighed and leaned against his headboard. The escorts would be there to pick him up in a few, but he didn't care. He was trying to figure out a problem way bigger than these puny mortals.

Kana was up earlier than she had to be, not because she had anywhere to go, but rather because she was feeling quite restless for some reason. It didn't sit well with her. Whenever she was restless, it usually meant something bad was going to happen. And that put her in an agitated mood. As soon as she opened the door to leave, she was greeted by Felix's escorts who had been moments away from knocking on the door. Thanks to that, the one nearly knocked on her face. Didn't really help her mood much. Giving them a blank look, she shut the door without a word and walked over to Felix's bedroom, knocking on his door. "Hey Felix, your keepers are here," she said plainly. Maybe her bad mood also had something to do with the fact that the wound on her chest was hurting. I should probably take something for that... she thought irritably.

Felix's blue gaze went to the door when Kana spoke of keepers. He sighed and got dressed. He didn't know what to do in terms of Meridian. His sweet blue eyed lover was leaving him with dead ends and riddles he could not solve. Felix sighed heavily and then walked out of his room. "Morning," he said to Kana as he exited. Maybe he should go to Kyla, she would know what he should do, but Felix was still holding a major grudge against the hag. He would never forgive her.

Kana looked at Felix as he passed by. "Mornin'," she returned, leaving the house almost as soon as Felix left his room. She didn't usually take medicine, but she didn't feel like being crabby today. She'd left the day before on a good note. She liked having days like those. First stop, store.

Felix got to the Kage's office and got to work of being a bodyguard. Leaning back in his chair, he waited boredly as the Kage worked. It was so quiet. Felix wondered if he should ask about Aidelia. Where was she? He hadn't seen her in a while. Felix shrugged and closed his eyes. "This. Is. The. Most. Tedious. Job. I. Have. Ever. Had." The silver haired jonin opened one eye as the Kage cleared his throat. "Sorry," Felix said. "I'm just used to being on the move, not sitting in an office all day. But this is the price I pay for losing control." Felix sighed.

Re: Transfer Mission: The Blackbird's Dilemma

(Anndd, a cutscene because I can't think of anything.)

Kymin was racking up names of people who were cooperating with Aidelia. It wasn't actually all that hard. Most of the ninja had never been involved in undercover operations before. Next on the suspect list was....Ikuto Yamuri. There had been an incident between that man, Felix, and Kana at the Academy about three and a half months earlier. And yet somehow the man was still teaching in the Academy, even though Felix had once more taken up the kids there. He figured he could go in, and request to see a student, say he was doing a favor for a friend and checking up on how things were going.

Of course it would look suspicious, and Kymin knew it. Yamuri, it seemed, was short tempered, and didn't like taking orders. Would probably act on a suspicion alone. Kymin would give some suspicious answers, and really Yamuri would have no reason to turn him away. Especially since he'd even gotten one of the kids in on this scheme. Didn't seem many of those kids liked their teacher...

Knocking on the door to Yamuri's classroom, Kymin peeked in. The damn guy had them doing bookwork. "Excuse me. Can I borrow someone real quick?" If this didn't work, then he'd have to try something else. The more he showed up to Yamuri though, the more careful the guy would be. That would be enough proof though.

Ikuto was leaning back in his chair, without his feet propped up this time. The last time he'd done that, that silver haired asshole and threw a book at him. Those brats had thought it was hilarious, Yamura on the other hand did not. He frowned heavily when there was a knock on the door. "What? One of my students? Why?" Some of the students glanced up from their work, praying it was Felix coming to save them, but it was only the ANBU Captain. There was a hushed sigh from the group, and they went back to work.

Felix looked up when he heard someone behind the door. A kunai slipped into his hand as he waited. When there was a knock, he remained waiting. "Come in," the Kage said. Felix wished the man wouldn't do that. Did he not realize someone could just burst in there and kill him without a moments notice. Ask who's at the door! When one of the Crested ANBU stepped in, Felix narrowed his eyes. What the hell are they doing here? Felix stood up as the other two came into the room. The silver haired Shinobi was on the defensive. When one of them came towards him, Felix put the kunai into his back pocket. "What do you all want," he asked. The shorter of the two guys merely nodded towards the door, as if telling him to leave the room. Felix, under these circumstance, had no choice but to do just that. It pissed him off that he was being escorted out by ninja of his own village. As the female and taller male remained in the room, Felix and the shorter male went outside the door. "What's the meaning of this," Felix asked.

(Pfft. It was only the ANBU Captain.)

So far so good. Already the guy sounded suspicious. "As much as I believe it's not your business, I understand that you're their teacher." He glanced to the kids, one in specific, who was looking at him almost expectantly. Kymin had actually told the boy to keep an eye on his teacher, and what made it better was that the kid was no good at hiding the fact that he knew Kymin. It was only more suspicious. "A friend of mine asked me to check up on their kid, and wanted me to give them a message."

The ANBU gave a look to the silver haired man, though it was hidden behind his mask. Things would go so much smoother if this loser and his partner had just left when things started going downhill, instead of trying to save their pride and make things right. What this mission needed was a fresh set of hands to clean up the mess. "You're not much of a bodyguard, are you. How hard would it be to impersonate three ANBU from the Crested just to gain entrance to the Kage? Hmph, you didn't even check to see if we were legit. Why are you even still on this mission if you can't do anything right?"

"Are you talking about that Kuriyama guy, he has no relation with these kids anymore," Yamuri said as he looked at all of his students. His eyes narrowed as he spotted one of the kids looking at the guy like he knew him. What were they up to? "Back to your bookwork!" He yelled. He looked at Kymin. "Talk to them after class, they've got works to do." He then opened his newspaper up and went back to reading.

Felix's blue eyes looked at the masked man. "As hard as it would be for me to severe your fucking head," Felix said. He'd moved close enough to the ANBU to put the kunai against the man's neck. "Do you want to see how easy it would be?" Felix knew he shouldn't be threatened people, but he wasn't going to sit back and let some Dog push him around. It had nothing to with his pride, Felix just didn't take lightly to people who thought they were above him.

Kymin raised an eyebrow at the guy. "Who said I'm affiliated with Kuriyama in any way? I'm here for the father of one of these kids," he stated. The black haired captain shrugged when Yamuri stated the kids had work to do. "Yeah, because this bookwork is so important. He can make it up." He pointed the the kid who'd been looking at him. "Wynn, come here please."

The brown haired boy looked nervously between Kymin and Yamuri. Should he go? Kymin was higher up than Yamuri was, but he remembered what Yamuri had done to sensei. That kind of thing stuck. Swallowing, Wynn slowly got up. If he knew he'd be put in this kind of position, he wouldn't have agreed to help Kymin. This was kinda scary.

"And then what, Kuriyama? It's a wonder you were already allowed to stay on this mission. I wonder just how many favors you had to call in. Do you really think you could pull it off again? You're on your last chance here. It would be better if you just went home. Because if you slip up one more time, you're just going to end yourself up in the big house," he said, grinning behind his mask. He wondered how far he could push Kuriyama. Of course if the guy moved to strike, he wouldn't hesitate to take him down. He'd heard rumors of the Silver Death. But really, how strong could one man be?
