Kana smiled lightly, waving to Tamero as he got up and said goodbye. She got up as well after packing the rest of her food. "Thanks sensei," she said with a nod. "See you tomorrow," she said, leaving the restaurant as well. It'd been a while since she'd been to the Open, so she had to remember the way back.

Renji looked to Kana and Tamero as they left, waving to them both before he slowly got up. "Thank you for lunch." He glanced back to Kana who was walking out of the restaurant. "For all of us," he said when he looked back to Felix. "I'll see you tomorrow sensei," he said with a smile, waving when he left. He had to tell his brother about everything that had happened today. And ask him where Hachiban Ramen was.

Felix went around the Open just to see what they had for sell. He bought nothing, but it hadn't been a complete waste of time. Going back to the Crested, he went to Kage's Office, turned in the paper for his mission, got the mission papers and then went home and slept that night with no dreams as usual. When he woke up at five, he didn't feel refreshed, so he took a shower and then headed off to the Hachiban where he waited for his students in silence.

Tamero was not thrilled about getting up early. His sister had to drag him out of bed in order for him to get up. When he had managed, he took a bath, ate breakfast, which was his left over pizza because his mom and dad were out, and then headed to Hachiban. When he got there, he looked at their sensei. "Morning," he grumbled as he rubbed his eyes. "It's so early," he mumbled tiredly with a yawn.

Kana got up at around five, not because she couldn't sleep, but rather because she used to get up at this time about every day when she'd been in the Academy after her parents had died, in order to go for a run every morning. So she ate what was left of her fries and burger, even though she'd eaten half of what had been left the night before, showered, and headed over to the restaurant. She didn't look nearly as tired as Tamero did. "Morning," she said to both of them.

Renji came in only a few minutes after Kana did, and he looked just as tired as Tamero did. He wasn't used to waking up so early. His brother had literally picked him up and put him in the bathtub, in his pajamas, before turning the cold water on in the shower. 'You can't be late for your missions, you hear me? It's not an option, so wake up.' Yeah, that's what he'd told him. "Good morning guys," he mumbled. "Morning sensei," he said, looking around the shopt. He wasn't sure he'd ever been to this one before.

Felix couldn't believe this bunch. They were so dead in the morning it wasn't even funny. The only live one was Kana. "Good morning you three" Felix said kindly. "Ready to work?" He looked at the shop owner. "These three are all yours. I'll be across the street if you need anything," Felix said as he gave a small wave goodbye. His blue eyes shinning.

Tamero groaned when Felix asked if they were ready to work. "Yeah, in a couple of hours...." Tamero yawned and looked to Renji. That guy knew what he was going through. Kana, not so much. The girl was clearly weird for being awake at such an hour. Tamero looked at the shop owner. "Can't we come back at like ten or so?" He asked. "We promise to work hard."

Renji also gave a light groan when their sensei asked if they were ready to work. He agreed with Tamero. And how was Kana so damn lively? He didn't get it, it was so early. When their sensei walked out, he sighed. Maybe cleaning the lake would have allowed them a bit more sleep.

Kana raised an eyebrow at Renji and Tamero. Were they serious? Kana walked up between both of them when Tamero asked about coming in later, then smacked them both upside their heads. "Wake up! We've got a mission to do, alright? Do you think assassins would wait for you to wake up in the morning to protect their target?" she said promptly, crossing her arms.

The shop owner gave a nod to Felix as he walked in. "Thank you very much. Good morning everyone," he said. The shop keeper was a fairly hearty looking man, who chuckled as the little white haired one asked if they could come in later. "I'm afraid not. Business starts early here, especially on the holidays. We'll already be flooded by ten," he said. "Now then, let's know your names. Starting with you there," he told them, nodding towards Tamero.

Tamero blinked surprised when Kana smacked him in the head. "Heyy, what was that for? No ninja in his right mind would be up this early for anything," Tamero complained. He then looked at the shop owner miserably as the guy said they'd be swamped by ten. "The horror never ends," Tamero said as if he were in a horror movie. "I'm Tamero Oujinshu," he told he shop owner. "Nice to meet you sir." He tried to withhold another yawn. He looked at Renji. "She's way too serious about being a ninja," he whispered.

Renji leaned forwards a bit when Kana smacked him and Tamero. "The heck Kana? We're awake, aren't we?" he said, rubbing the back of his head, nodding to Tamero when he said that Kana was way too serious. "My name's Renji Kader, sir," he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you."

Kana raised an eyebrow at the two when they started complaining. "You don't look awake. A lot of people get up earlier than we do," she said with a nod, then looked to the shop keeper. "I'm-"

"Kana, right? I remember you. You were here about a week ago," he said with a nod. He knew her because she came there every week for ramen. "Alright, you all go into the back and wash up. You'll be bringing the customers their food when it's done, then washing up tables. Oh, and be friendly."

"He's talking to you Kana," Tamero mumbled as he went into the back and washed up. When he was finished he gave another yawn. "I'll never take sleep for granted ever again," he swore as he leaned against the wall. The coolness felt nice against his check. "I miss my bed." He then walked into the front. "Ready to sleep...er, work sir." He said with a mock salute.

Kana gave a small glare at Tamero when he said that he'd been talking to her. "Oh hush you. I can be friendly," she told him, going into the back with them to wash her hands. She went in front of the shop keeper with a smile. "All ready," she told him, giggling lightly at Tamero's slip up.

Renji also followed the two into the back, and then out into the front, where the first customer had already come in.

By the end of the day, both Kana and Renji were fairly exhausted from running around with hot dishes all day, but the shop keeper had decided to let them go early, and even allowed them to keep whatever tips they had made at the tables they had served at. There had been other waiters and waitresses there as well, and while some of them said so and some of them didn't, most of them found the team of genin to be quite cute.

Re: First Encounter

Post by Batsu on Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:03 am

Tamero never wanted to see another bowl of ramen for as long as he lived. The white haired genin was tired. He wanted to go home and sleep. Eyes heavy, he walked out the shop and sighed. "Where's sensei?" He asked. "Isn't he supposed to be here?" Tamero didn't want to spend any more time standing than he had to. He wanted to go to the Kage's office, collect his pay, and go home.

Felix came from around the corner to see his squad. "You look worse than you did this morning," Felix said with a grin. "Missions are always something to look forward to though, or at least a completed one is." Felix motioned for them to follow as he led them to the Kage's building. When they arrived, Felix handed the older man the slip of paper and he kindly signed off on it. He then looked to the three genin. "A job well done, I believe you will be looking forward to this reward." He had three bags of coin.

Re: First Encounter

Post by Cross on Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:42 am

Renji gave a light yawn when they finished, walking out behind Kana and Tamero. He was just as tired as when he'd began, only now it was physically as well as mentally. Who knew that working in a restaurant could be so freaking tiring? At least the owner had been nice enough to allow them to keep their tips. And as well as that, there was that reward that they got from the village too. He couldn't help but smile when their sensei said that they'd done a good job, taking his bag once it was handed to him. "Thanks sensei," he said with a tired smile.

Kana on the other hand, wasn't all that tired by the time they'd finished, and didn't really understand why the other two were so tuckered out. She still had energy to spare! She was even thinking about coming back to help for the rest of the night to get some extra tips if the owner would allow it. When she saw their sensei, she was wearing a genuine smile, and it was especially so when they were led to the Kage's office, then told it had been a job well done. At this point she didn't even care about the money, she'd completed her first real mission! She didn't care how silly the mission had been, it had been a mission nonetheless! Even so, when they were each handed their bags, Kana took hers as well. "Thank you," she said happily.

"Thanks," Tamero said as he took his bag. "Sensei, can I go home now," he asked. Both Felix and the Kage gave a small laugh. "Sure Tamero, have a good night," he told his student. He looked at Kana who was ever so bubbly. "You all are dismissed for the day and tomorrow as well. Training will pick the day after next," he told them. "In the mean time, enjoy your day off." Felix gave a smirk when Tamero cheered and hurried out, telling everyone that he'd passed his first mission and had a whole twenty-five dollars to spend, with paid vacation. He turned to the Kage. "While they're off and about having fun, can I get a mission of my own," he asked. The old man nodded and handed Felix a piece of paper. "This should be right up your alley." Felix nodded as he read the paper. "Night sir."

Kana and Renji both smiled when Tamero asked if he could go home. Renji wanted to ask the same thing, really. He wanted to go home, go to bed, and tell his brother about the mission tomorrow. Which was exactly what he did once they were released. Now he had a day off, and money to spend. He was planning on maybe getting a couple new weapons. He had to learn to use weapons better anyways, so why not have something specific as a specialty?

Kana, on the other hand, spent her free day with running, and visiting her parents graves to tell them all about her first mission. Even though their bodies had never been found after the mission, they still had graves, and Kana was going to believe that their spirits lingered there. She didn't mind talking to them aloud, because most people didn't come to the graveyard for too long. And who really cared if they saw a twelve year old there, talking to thin air?

......of course, that thought never really registered in Kana's mind.

Felix spent his so called day off doing a mission. It only reminded him of how much he hated being a sensei. Training children required a lot of time, which cut missions for him out. Felix shook his head as he headed to the training grounds. He had planned out something special for the three genin. Today they'd learn to manipulate their chakra in order to give them the one up on an upcoming scrimage. So they needed to know how to walk on water and walls and of course trees. Felix smirked. This would be fun.

Kana and Renji were already in the training grounds talking before their sensei and Tamero arrived. "Um...I know this is off subject, and none of my business, but...why didn't you tell Tamero?"

Kana blinked, tilting her head a bit. "Tell him about what?"

Renji hesitated a bit before answering again. "About...you know, your parents? That they're dead..?"

Kana frowned a bit. "Because it's nobody's business. It doesn't matter."

Renji gave a nod. "E-er right. Sorry."

Tamero arrived a little after Kana and Renji. "Morning guys," he said happily. "It sure was nice to get a break. I slept all yesterday," he said with a laugh. "I wish we could get a day off like that after every mission." He crossed his arms behind his back. "And guess what. My sister Molly was so thrilled to hear I completed my first mission that she didn't even care about Amy," he snickered. "Middle child for the win!"

"Settle down Tamero," Felix said as he walked up. "Morning everyone. Today we're working on chakra control. This will be the most difficult thing you'll learn in your entire ninja career," Felix stated. "Renji, I'll be needing your assistance before we began. Do you mind warming up the lake with one of your fire styles." He looked to the red eyed boy.

Kana looked at Tamero when he exclaimed about how his little sister didn't even care about his older sister. She smiled, looking to their sensei as he came along. "Mornin'." Her eyes brightened when he told them they'd be working on chakra control. That was awesome! Maybe it would help her be good at ninjutsu!

Renji grinned at Tamero as he cheered. "That's awesome," he told him happily, looking to their sensei with a wave as he came. "Good morning sensei." He looked curiously as their sensei said he'd need his help. "Sure thing sensei!" He was glad to get a chance to use his jutsu. Walking over to the lake, Renji fixed his gloves before starting on the jutsu. "Fire Style: Phoenix Offshoot." Renji wasn't sure what heating up the lake had to do with anything, but last time he questioned their sensei's methods he almost lost his spot on the team. Fire covering his hands, Renji started shooting off fireballs into the lake, and, deciding it was taking too long, put his hands together to form a larger fireball, and shot it into the lake, at which point he waved the flames out on his gloves like they were simply matches.

Felix nodded. "Well done." He said. "Now, chakra control and manipulation is a complex thing. You have to control the chakra running through your body. That's basic of course. However, it also controls how you make jutsu, such as clones. Shadow clones for instant are pure chakra. If you can't manipulate it properly, you can't make a shadow clone." He started towards the water. "Today you will walk on water. You will focus your chakra into your feet. Too little and you'll fall, too much and...well, you'll see when we start to walk on the trees." Felix walked onto the water, his chakra already centered. "It's not as easy as it looks and this water is pretty hot, thank Renji for that. So I wouldn't advise falling in. And Tamero, it's not deep, so you won't drown."

Tamero turned red in embarrassment when their sensei said he wouldn't drown. "I wasn't scared," he mumbled as he walked to the edge. "So, who wants to go first," Tamero asked with a silly smirk. "You or Kana," he asked as he looked at Renji. There was no way he was going out there so he could be scolded to death.

Kana looked at Renji as she saw him use a fire style. She didn't know that he could use anything other than earth style! That was awesome, she'd always thought most ninja were limited to a single element! When their sensei started explaining their training, Kana swallowed. So it was manipulate it correctly or fall into scolding hot water? She glanced at Tamero as he asked who wanted to go first.

"I guess me, since I heated it up," Renji muttered. He didn't realize that was what he'd been heating up the water for. This was just mean. Swallowing, Renji started forward to the lake. He'd never really done this before, he usually had to center his chakra around his hands and his feet. Not just his feet. Focusing his chakra to his feet as best as he could, Renji walked onto the water cautiously. It was steaming. When he realized he wasn't immediately sinking, he felt relieved. "This isn't actually all that hard," he said lightly, walking a few steps more before turning to look at Kana and Tamero. "Hey, c-" SPLASH. As soon as Renji had let his concentration go, he fell straight in. A moment later he was swimming to the land, quickly crawling out before he rubbed his eyes, giving a light cough. "Hothothot...I-I lied, harder than it looks," he sputtered. Man, did he have to go and heat the water up that much?!

Felix have a grin when Renji said he'd go first. His blue eyes lit up when he saw Renji walk out onto the water and he'd admit that the id was doing great. Maybe he'd spoken too soon. When Renji fell into the water, Felix gave a small chuckle. "Better than some of my previous trainees," said nonchalantly. He looked at Kana and Tamero. "Get a move on."

Tamero watched Renji carefully. When his friend fell in, Tamero grimaced. "I don't wanna go," he complained as he started onto the water, quickly backing up when his leg didn't stay above water. "Why isn't it working?" He'd concentrated his chakra to his feet like he was supposed to. He tried again, stepping lightly and then moving forward. Another step and he immediately fell in. Tamero gave a yowl and then got out. "Geez Renji, could you make it any hotter," he asked. His cheeks red.

Re: First Encounter

Post by Cross on Mon Nov 26, 2012 1:50 pm

Renji looked at Tamero apologetically as the boy fell in, then quickly got out. "It's not like I knew this was what we were going to be doing," he muttered, looking to the side as he stood himself back up. His face was red too, from falling in. He wasn't going to wait for Kana to get herself together to try again. Just as before, Renji got a few steps in before a noise off in the distance broke his concentration, making him fall into the hot water. Quickly swimming to land once again, Renji shook the water from his head a little. "Darn it, I was so close! What was that?" he asked in an irritated tone.

Kana, after seeing Renji fall in, decided on a rare occasion, to remember something her father had taught her about focusing chakra.

'Focusing your chakra is all about visualization. It's as if you're making a genjutsu, you have to see it to make it real. Do you understand?'

The nine year old blond girl blinked and looked off to the side with an irritated look. 'Not really,' she replied with, picking her ear with a finger.

'Kana, don't do that. Now just watch me, okay?' When Kana stopped and looked at him, he straightened up, putting his hands together in the handsign for Ram. After a moment, he closed his eyes. 'If you're trying to climb a tree, or the side of a building, it's best to focus your energy in the tips of your fingers and the surface of your feet,' he told her.

'Hm? How do you do that?' she asked skeptically.

'You pretend you can see it,' he told her. Kana tilted her head and looked at him. His chakra didn't really look like it was doing much, but it was brighter around his hands and feet. As if that meant anything to the young girl. 'Pretend that you can force it to those places just by thinking about it. Because eventually, you'll be able to.'

Kana clicked her tongue lightly and made an annoyed sound. 'I don't get it,' she said, folding her arms.

Opening his eyes, Kana's father sighed. 'You'll have to learn this someday Kana. Just try to remember what I told you, alright?'

Kana blinked when she realized she'd been staring into space for several moments. Renji was already on top of the water again, and the next thing she knew a noise made him fall in. She shrugged at his irritated question before she mimicked what her father had done in her memories. It made her sad to remember them like that. She hadn't really been all that interested in being a ninja before they'd died. Now she wished she'd learned from them while she'd had the chance. Visualize it...like a genjutsu, she thought, her eyes remaining closed. Her imagination was already swirling, and she swore that if she did this more often she could come up with new ideas for genjutsu. Kana'd never realized it before, but she could've sworn that her own chakra was green. She'd always had troubles seeing her own chakra, but now it was different. She could see it fairly clearly. After imagining that her chakra was at the bottom of her feet, Kana opened her eyes, trying to hold the image in her head. Swallowing slightly after looking at the steaming water in front of her, she slowly stepped forward, sinking a bit before she tried again to step after reimagining her chakra at her feet. When she didn't sink this time she slowly placed her other foot on the water, which shook a bit as she stepped. For once Kana was completely silent, her eyes focused on the water, so that she could still see her feet to imagine that her chakra was there. For the moment, it was working.

Felix watched the three attempting to walk on the water. When he saw Kana making progress he smirked and picked up a pebble from the edge of the water and tossed it on her left side, a few feet from where she was, just to see how well she could handle a distraction. She had for once shut up which was like heaven on earth, but he was sure it would only happen this once.

Tamero was making horrible progress and when he did manage to get a small hang of standing on the water, the pebble Felix threw made him turn his head, causing him to fall in. "Noooo!" He yelled annoyed as he got out. "Sensei, why'd do that?"

(Mean.)

Kana looked to the side immediately when she heard the small splash, her feet sinking down about an inch before she fell in completely with a light yelp. When she came above water, her face was already red and she swam to the edge and climbed out. When she heard that their sensei was the one that'd thrown the pebble, Kana gave a nearly exasperated look. "Aww, what the heck? We were doing good!" She said, nearly giving a pout. She'd just been getting the hang of it too!

Renji blinked as he saw their sensei throw a pebble next to Kana. "Hey...is that what that noise before was sensei?" he asked, trying not to sound too irritated or suspicious. Was that guy just setting them up for failure? Or was he just messing with them now for kicks and giggles?

Felix looked at Kana and Tamero. "Stop whining," he snapped. "Didn't I say not to question my methods, or would you rather just go home and try again tomorrow. I don't really care, they pay me either way. And Kianashi, good isn't perfect." He gave a short glance in Renji's direction. "Does it matter," he asked. "If it was an enemy ninja, would you as questions? You were distracted all the same which means we wouldn't be having this conversation."

Tamero, who was on his way back onto the water froze in fear when Felix snapped at him and Kana. Usually he'd have a silly remark, but he couldn't bring himself to joke. Tamero looked down at the water and then stepped on as lightly as possible. He didn't know why Felix was so upset, they hadn't done anything. He was only joking when he'd asked Felix why he'd thrown the rock. He wasn't trying to question Felix's teaching methods. His purple eyes sad, he could barely focus on staying on the water, but managed a few footsteps before falling in. This time he didn't whine or complain, he just got out as quickly as he could and then got back onto the water.

Kana looked at their sensei, freezing in place as he snapped at them. Her face went momentarily blank, and she glanced at Tamero and Renji. As right as their teacher was, that had been really sudden. Kana went as quiet as her teammates and followed in Tamero's example of going back on the water. She didn't step back on for another few moments though. She was trying to both visualize her chakra in her feet and be aware of her surroundings. Her father had never taught her anything about that! Just as she was about to go onto the water, she stopped midstep. She had to stop thinking about them. Looking down at her feet, Kana visualized her chakra once more and walked onto the water. First step was staying afloat. She'd worry about being aware after she was on the water.

Renji, like his teammates, was pretty shocked at their sensei's outburst. Clearing his throat lightly, Renji also started on going back into the water. He wondered...if he focused his chakra into both his hands and feet like he did for Phoenix Offshoot, he could do this and focus on his surroundings too...right? He wasn't going to say anything though, because he didn't want to piss their teacher off again.
