Broken Glass

That had escalated and died rather quickly. Felix was no longer interested in doing anything aside from just going to bed. He didn't even want to finish washing up with Kymin any longer. Felix got up and held his hand out to his fiance to help him up off the couch. Felix just wanted to sleep or train. He really wanted to train himself to the point of serious exhaustion so he could pass out and not have to think about this. He led Kymin to the bathroom and ran the tub water once more as well as lighting the candles. He sat on the edge of the tub and looked down into the water, starring down at his reflection. This is annoying....

Kymin followed Felix into the bathroom, lightly crossing his arms over the other male's shoulders when the guy sat on the edge of the bathtub. "I'm sorry Felix," he apologized softly. "I trust you, I do, but it's just that I get worried about hurting you sometimes," he said, laying his chin on one of his arms. "It's an irrational fear most of the time, but it's always there, you know?" he said quietly, watching the tub fill up with water.

Felix shook his head. "Stop apologizing, it's annoying." Back to his old blunt self. If there was one way to know Felix was upset, it was his bluntness. His blue eyes remained starring down at the water, his gaze narrowed lightly. "Honestly I don't care if you have trust issues with me or not. It's really nothing new on my end. As for hurting me, that should be the least of your problems. Pain doesn't really register in my mind most days." He sighed and shook his head. He didn't want to leave Kymin feeling bad, but, "I kind of just need some space right now, okay?" He looked over his shoulder at Kymin.

Kymin turned his gaze to Felix, but didn't turn his head, when the guy spoke. Well that was blunt. He wondered how ticked Felix was with him. Hurting him should be the least of his problems? Nah, Kymin didn't think so. Being scared of hurting Felix was right up there behind Batsu. When Felix said he needed space right now, Kymin blinked, but nodded, uncrossing his arms from over his lover's shoulders and standing up. "Alright love," he nodded. He wanted to give Felix a kiss or a hug or something before he left. "I'll go get dressed and take Vishnu for a walk," he said, pausing a few moments with his gaze on his silver haired lover before he walked into the bedroom, holding back a small sigh. It was too bad, really, that this was happening. But Kymin was trying to stay calm over it. After all, the guy had just said that he'd wanted space is all. Nothing to worry about, right? Yeah, nothing to worry about. At least they weren't yelling at each other.

"I'll talk to you later," Felix said when Kymin told him he was going to go walk Vishnu. When the guy was gone Felix got into the water and shook his head. He'd remembered how his last relationship had turned out when he'd told someone he needed space, in an even more blunt matter. The relationship had been instantly terminated, and Felix, being who he was only added fuel to flame. His icy blue eyes closed. Him and Kymin were engaged, the guy wasn't going anywhere. Felix dunked himself under the water with a groan. He didn't want to come up from beneath the water ever again.

"Okay. See ya in a bit," he said, closing the bathroom door and pulling out a pair of shorts and a white t-shirt. He only picked a t-shirt because he wasn't going to be training or running. Actually...he probably had to stop wearing t-shirts now that he was taken. Oh well, this once wouldn't hurt. Just so long as he didn't run into Liz by accident. That would be a horrible incident, especially since Felix hadn't gotten the chance to threaten her yet. Calling Vishnu, he let the puppy outside and followed, closing the door behind him with a sigh as he started walking down the street while the dog ran about, sniffing around every now and then. Ultimately though, the puppy really was just playing around because he loved being outside.

Felix came back up after about five minutes. He didn't like the fact that the soapy water was preventing him from opening his eyes. When he came up he gave another sigh, shaking his head in annoyance. "Damn it! God damn it!" Anger washed over him and he got up out of the tub and made his way to the bedroom after getting dressed and draining the tub as well as putting out the candles. The shinobi needed to move around, to get out of this house. It was driving him crazy! Felix sat on the bed and put his head in his hands. He needed to get out and train, run, fight!

Kymin crossed his arms as he walked, looking at his surroundings as he did. He was trying to get his mind off all that was going on. He should've just let Felix carry on, but he'd felt like such an asshole. He couldn't have kept on like that knowing that his lover was in pain or uncomfortable. The black haired ninja frowned. He didn't want to hurt Felix. Images of the other night kept flashing through his mind. He'd practically been strangling Felix. There had been a bruise around the guy's neck, and he'd broken his jaw. He'd lost his temper before, but not like that. He had to learn to control not only his impulses, but his strength too, and the fact that sometimes he got out of control with it scared him half to death.

Midori's eyes shinned happily as she made her way to her home, a large bag of groceries in her arms. She blinked when she saw Kymin, the man who was supposed to be Felix's fiance. She knew it wasn't her place, but didn't the guy deserve to know his fiance was leaving him? Didn't Felix love this guy, so why leave? When Kade had explained it to her, he'd said Felix was doing it to protect Kymin. She looked around, the silver haired man was nowhere to be found. Maybe she should just give him a heads up. "Hey, excuse me, you're Kymin, right?"

Kymin looked back in front of him when he heard a female voice calling him. It wasn't exactly silky, so he didn't expect it to be Liz, and was relieved to see it wasn't. "Yeah. Ah, give me a sec, you're..." Kymin uncrossed his arms and tapped his head a couple times in thought. "Ah, Midori, right?" he smiled. "Felix's captain?" Yeah, that was it. He was usually good with names, and he was glad he remembered hers even though he was stressed out. "What's up?" he asked curiously.

Ah, this kid was such a sweetheart. Felix would be out of his mind to leave this guy. Midori smiled kindly. "Mmhm, that's right," she said. When he asked her what was up she wasn't sure she wanted to answer him. "Well, I just wanted to know if Felix had told you about the mission he'd been assigned to," she asked. She would take this nice and slow instead of outright telling Kymin that his fiance was about to get up and abandon him. "I mean, since you two are supposed to get married."

Kymin tilted his head when the girl mentioned a mission Felix was supposed to be assigned to. "He's retired...he shouldn't be getting assigned to any mission," he said with a confused frown. "When...when is it?" What was going on here? Was this girl just trying to pull his leg or what? Vishnu trotted around the area, sniffing around since Kymin had stopped walking.

Midori put her hands in front of her, waving them lightly. "Oh, it was assigned way before you showed up. We were sending in a few of our shinobi to help out a village that needed some support is all. Even with him being retired he's still on the list and it's kind of priority." She put her hand to the back of her head and gave a small laugh. "He'll be back in no time, I promise. Then again I could just take him off the list completely, unless you two need the extra compensation that is." She shrugged lightly. "And it's been almost six months since the request, so shipping off should be soon. Maybe this month or the next." So Felix hadn't told Kymin about leaving afterall. What a jerk.

Kymin listened to Midori explain, having a sudden fear that didn't show on his face when she mentioned supporting a village. "Ah...it, doesn't have anything to do with those recent attacks, does it?" he questioned, giving a glance at Vishnu. He looked back to Midori when she said she could pull him off the list. "Oh, no, that's fine, if this has been planned for a while, well...who am I to interrupt a mission?" he asked, giving a small chuckle. "Um...thanks for letting me know," he said with a half-hearted smile. Why the hell hadn't Felix told him this himself?

"Oh God no, I don't think anyone is insane enough to accept a mission like that. Whatever is destroying those villages is just too powerful for any shinobi.We're hoping whatever it is doesn't come this way, it's already taken down the Snow." She sighed. "An entire village, gone." She shuddered. "It's scary, we're right on their border, it could have been us." She shook her head. "Anyway,we're just helping them set up trade routes while protecting them from bandits is all. It's a smaller village and people who are more powerful would love to walk all over them. Our biggest concern is them being drawn into a war." She smiled when Kymin thanked her for informing him. "Oh, don't thank me, I just wanted to make sure all the loved ones were informed before I drag our shinobi away," she joked.

Kymin was more than just relieved to hear that it had nothing to do with Batsu, and he let his relief be shown this time. "Yeah, it's...pretty crazy, what's going on," he agreed with a nod. He chuckled lightly at Midori's joke, then nodded. "Well, okay then, whatever you say. Have a good one. I should probably catch up to my dog, he's halfway down the street," he grinned lightly. Indeed, Vishnu had gotten tired of waiting for Kymin and had bolted off down the street. "See you around," he called back to the pink haired shinobi before he went off after Vishnu. Maybe a leash really was a good idea. That, however, was the least of Kymin's worries right now. Why hadn't Felix told him? It wasn't even that much of a big deal, even if Kymin was ticked the guy had to be sent away while he was off duty. He really should've told Midori to take him off the list.

Midori smiled lightly when Kymin said his dog was halfway down the street. Her gaze slowly followed and she smiled. "Well then, how cute is that." She waved goodbye to Kymin and then sighed. The best thing is, she really hadn't been lying about that mission. Felix really was on a list and so were a few other shinobi.

Felix lay on the bed, his blue eyes closed. His hands were spread out on either side as he lay on his back. The more time that pasted the more flustered he became. It was becoming very apparent on his face that he was annoyed. This was all going to shit and it was pissing him off. Having to leave, having Kymin worried about him, having to find Serenity, wondering if he'd make it back in time to marry Kymin like he was supposed to. Felix sat up and got off the bed to start pacing the room. He really needed to hit something, anything! The shinobi was going mad here. He wasn't sure he'd ever been able to go this long without actually training until his heart's content. It had been torture when the twins were born, and this was nothing short of it.

Kymin gave Midori a wave, catching up to Vishnu rather quickly, for the puppy had stopped at the corner of the street to look back for his black haired human. Once they turned the corner, Kymin started back towards the house. He couldn't wrap his head around this. He could understand that they'd only just gotten engaged, but when had Felix planned on telling him? He was leaving in a month or two, and while they'd only been together a couple weeks...The black haired ninja sighed, crossing his arms behind his head as he walked. He'd wait a bit before asking Felix about it. After all, maybe the guy was just trying to figure out how to tell him. He wouldn't just up and leave once it was time to go, right?

Felix got sick of pacing around so he went outside and sat on the porch, his eyes narrowed against the sun. He really wanted to take a run. He really just need to do anything besides sit here. Felix looked around then got up once more and went into the backyard, closing the gate behind him. He found one of Vishnu's tennis balls and began to toss it against the house. It was enough to keep him occupied for a little while. At least he was moving.

When Kymin got back to the house, he let Vishnu in, closing the door behind the two of them. He was wondering if he should go talk to Felix. Had he been gone long enough for Felix to cool down? Walking towards the bedroom, Kymin blinked when he realized no one was in the bathroom. Going into the living room, he looked around, and then checked the kitchen. Had Felix gone out somewhere? He really hoped that was it. He checked the spare bedroom next before he started getting worried. How badly had he upset Felix? "Hey, Felix, I'm home," he called, walking back into the living room. He supposed he could check the backyard next. If the guy wasn't there...well, the only thing to do would be to wait and hope Felix would be coming back soon.

Felix heard Kymin and Vishnu enter the house, but he didn't feel like going to see them right now. He was in the mood for throwing stuff against the wall without interruption. He continued to do just that until he heard Kymin call his name. Felix paused briefly. "I'm in the back." He then went back to throwing and catching the ball. He probably looked like some teenager in the midst of great boredom. That was how he felt, but at least he'd found an outlet for his anger. Baseball would have been good too. He used to play baseball with Sven. Those were some good days.

Kymin gave a small sigh of relief when he heard Felix answer him from the backyard. What was the guy doing there anyways? Going out the back door, the black haired male leaned against the door frame when he saw Felix throwing the ball. He figured he'd leave the guy alone for a bit longer, but first, "Hey angel. You want me to get you a drink or somethin?" He hadn't been gone for a very long time, so he figured he'd just see if Felix needed anything and then go to lay down or something.

Felix continued in his act, even when Kymin came out and leaned against the door frame. When his fiance asked him if he wanted something to drink he merely shook his head. "Nopes." If he stopped now he was going to get antsy and he didn't want to take his agitation out on Kymin, especially since he was over the green eyed male for the moment. His blue eyes remained focused on the ball bouncing between him and the wall. "Why, do you want to sit down and have a drink with me," he asked. He didn't care, he just didn't want to brush of Kymin and have the guy slinking back inside to moan and cry. That would only annoying him more.

Kymin only shrugged when Felix said he didn't want anything. He'd started to turn to go back inside, but stopped when Felix spoke again. "Ah...no, that's okay. I wasn't really gone for so long, and if you need space," he smiled lightly. More like...he wasn't sure he wanted to talk to Felix right now, and if he did, would he be able to talk to the guy without bringing up the mission? "I'm just gonna go watch a movie," he said, giving a small wave before heading back inside.

Felix tilted his head, his gaze finding Kymin when the guy spoke. He shrugged lightly. "Okay." It was probably a good idea anyway. "Talk to you in a little bit." He turned his head back to the ball. Space, this was barely enough space for Felix. He felt like a caged bird that was ready to fly away. He wasn't sure why he was suddenly so antsy about being in one place. Probably because they were supposed to be traveling, not staying here in the Crested. Damn Batsu! Damn Kyla! Damn Kana! Damn Serenity! Damn everything and everyone. Felix tossed the ball one last time and then let it roll away across the ground. He sighed and looked at the doorway. He didn't want to be near Kymin right now. Exiting out the gate he went towards the nearest bar. He didn't care that it was still pretty early to be drinking, but he order a few beers and started to down them.
