Felix raised a brow. "You alter memories? How fascinating." The immortal gave a sigh as Kana asked about the process. Felix wondered how in dept he should go. "Not much really. I just had to balance my chakra with yours without seeming like a threat. If I forced my chakra over yours, I could have killed you. If I was too gentle, you would still be fighting off my chakra." Felix shrugged. "That was basically it."

"A perk of being the daughter of two of the best jutsu-makers in the world," Kana said, sounding rather proud. She never let on about how much she missed her parents, but she never failed to let others see how proud she was of them. Kana fell silent for a moment when Felix explained. He wasn't telling her everything. "I thought you said that you couldn't use your chakra," she said, her brown eyes focused on her silver haired partner.

Felix saw that Kana was proud of her parents. He'd remember how many people had showed up at their funeral, how the village had mourned, and then he was given her as a student. Felix swore it had been arranged, but he'd never brought it up to his superiors. "They'd be proud of you," Felix said honestly. When Kana brought up how he couldn't use his chakra, Felix smirked. Why the hell was she so persistent? Come to think of it, he wasn't even sure if he could use his chakra again, he hadn't attempted to since earlier that day when he had to save her life. "I couldn't, that's why Kyla was there. She's the witch doctor after all."

Kana nodded when Felix mentioned that was why Kyla had been there. "So that means you can use your chakra again?" she asked with a small smile. That was good. It would make things easier. No handicaps were just great. At this point in the mission, they couldn't avoid handicaps. She froze for a moment when a thought hit her. "Wait. If you tell me that Kymin is on our side, and Aidelia is acting on her own...that means the war is off?" She asked. What was going on in the back of her mind was the fact that she'd just sent a message earlier to the Crested ninja telling them to get the hell out. She swallowed. She'd screwed up again. If they left, the Sand would know they had spies. But she couldn't panic yet. If they were still doing the war, even as a front...

Felix only nodded at her question, before getting to the more important things of life. "We're going to war," he said. "It's the only thing Aidelia has a fear of. Hopefully we can stop her before we get to the part of bloodshed. If not, then it's just another risk we'll have to take." The blue eyed man shook his head. "This is getting to become a hassle. All of these issues keep coming up. The ninja aren't ready, and everyone knows it. Attacking would be just be leading them to a slaughter. If Aidelia doesn't see that, then she's lost it. Without ninja, you can't run a village. She wants power and I'm starting to believe that that is what we have to give her, if only for a short amount of time." Felix paused. "We're going to have to stage the Kage's death, if not only to show him what she's capable of, and to show him who's the real enemy."

Well at least Kana didn't have to call the Shadowshifter back. She was almost visibly relieved. She wanted to figure out how she'd come to have a contract with that creature. Maybe Felix had heard of it before. Kana nodded in agreement with Felix's plan. "He's old anyways. It wouldn't come as much of a surprise if he were to drop dead all of the sudden," she said. She then shook her head. "How does a spy come to have so much power in a village? One an ANBU Captain, the other next in line for Kage? It's pathetic," she said, looking off to the side. She didn't understand all that much just why they shouldn't let Aidelia take over the village. Being a spy, she knew what to do. It might've actually been better for this little rock of a village. The only reason Kana was fighting to keep the silver haired woman from the so-called 'throne', was because she hated her guts.

Post by The Godfather Thu Sep 27, 2012 11:30 am

"Exactly, and he's sick. My biggest concern at this point is that he really does die before this mission is over with. If Aidelia rules over, we'll have failed. Felix uncrossed his arms. "They're very good spies," he told her. "But you're right, it is sad that the village didn't figure it out until now." Felix sighed. "I want to keep the Kage under full surveillance and find someone worthy of taking his place. Someone who knows how to handle politics and warfare. There aren't many capable ninja out there... In the mean time, I'm also going to work on keeping the Kage alive and plan on how we're going to fake his death. You should get back to training the ninja. If we do go to war, we can at least give them a fighting chance."

Kana looked at Felix. She'd realized that she may've sounded a bit harsh earlier, but was glad he hadn't said anything about it. He actually agreed with her. Seems their minds thought rather alike. Kana looked down when Felix said he wanted to find someone worthy of taking the Kage's place. She'd known one person, but he'd turned out to be a spy. And there were a lot of corrupt people on Aidelia's so-called payroll. The trick was to filter out the corruption. She paused. She might've had an idea, actually. She nodded when Felix said she should get back to training the ninja. "Right." A pause. "Hey. Felix. Have you ever heard of something called the Shadowshifter?" she asked, tilting her head as she looked at him. She almost hoped he hadn't.

Post by The Godfather Thu Sep 27, 2012 11:56 am

Felix looked at the Crested shinobi when she asked about the Shadowshifter. "Yeah. It's a type of contract summoning. Usually people make a contract with it when they fall into their deepest depression. No one really knows how long the contract is in tact, but it's pretty mysterious." The jonin shrugged. "It's kind of like the Id, which is very dangerous. Anyway, the Shadowshifter serves your every need, but I don't know what it requires in return. I guess the contractee knows the answer to that. I think it's dangerous. Like a parasite just waiting to take over." Felix paused. That sounded like the Blue Demon. "Not like a parasite, but I think it's just waiting for the person to give up so it can take over. I'm not really sure, that's just my theory." Felix shrugged. "I wouldn't suggest a person use it too often, since the effects aren't really known." He looked to Kana. "Why, you know someone who can use it?"

Kana kept her gaze on Felix after he said he knew about it, her face blank as he explained. That...didn't sound good. The thing was a parasite...? As Felix continued, saying how it might've been just waiting to take over, Kana seemed to pale a shade. It made sense that the thing would've had a contract with her, given her past depression issues, but...she didn't even remember making it! Kana swallowed when Felix finished, looking off to the side at his question. She seemed a bit shaken up now. "Yeah...something like that," she told him. If he couldn't figure it out, then she guessed that was his problem. How did you tell a person that you made a contract with something like that ?

Post by The Godfather Thu Sep 27, 2012 1:31 pm

(lol. You just tempted me.)

Her answer wasn't exactly what Felix expected, and the look on her face gave it all away. Felix wasn't sure what to say. He kind of felt bad about telling her about the thing. "There's nothing to worry about though," he told her. "It may just live to serve, or it won't be able to exist at all. And someone who's gone through a deep depression could possibly use it as a friend of comfort, especially if they are young." Felix left her with that. Maybe she would be less worries. Besides, all parasites weren't deadly. "Is that all you want, because if so, I'm going to bed, it's midnight, had you not noticed."

(Tempted you? To do what? Should I be scared? O.0 )

How could he say that there was nothing to worry about, after what he'd just told her? She merely blinked when he said maybe it existed to serve. That maybe it just existed to be a friend to those in depression. She'd had the Shadowshifter for a long time, and had always been afraid of it because of the form it took. It had never occurred to her that the thing might be a friend. "Yeah, that's it," she said lightly. She was still a bit shaken up by what Felix had said, but she seemed calmer now. "Good night. And...thanks for telling me what happened," she told him. And for telling her about Kymin, though she was still irritated with him.

(Nothing, I decided against it.)

Felix shrugged. "No problem, goodnight." The jonin turned away and headed for his room. He closed the door and locked it. Slipping off his shirt, he laid back on the bed and was soon sleep. He didn't dream or move throughout the night. He just wanted to sleep and so he did. The next morning it had barely registered in his mind that he had to get up for work when he heard banging on the door. Felix groggily got up and looked around the room.

(Whaaat? That's no fun!)

While Kana had been laying in bed, she hadn't been asleep when the loud knocking came. In fact, she hadn't slept all night. She thought that if she'd gotten closure about what'd happened before and after she'd blacked out, she'd be able to sleep some. Hadn't been the case. And now it was six in the morning, and she was staring up at the ceiling when that obnoxious banging started. Rolling her eyes, Kana rolled out of bed and went to the front door. She'd changed clothes after Felix had gone to bed, but not into pajamas. Instead she was already dressed in her outfit for the day. Opening the door, she gave the two escorts a glare. "What do you want?" she asked in irritation. That loud banging had gave her a headache, and started her morning off badly.

Felix got out of bed a slow pace, forgetting that Kana was in the house and that the guards could have woke her up. Changing the bandages on his wounds, he got dressed in his normal outfit, minus his jacket which had been shredded on the sides. Felix yawned and slipped on his shoes. "Too early for this. Too tired for this..." The guards looked at Kana when she opened the door. "Where is Kuriyama?"

Kana had to keep herself from glaring at these two. Who the hell did they think they were, banging on their door in the early hours of the morning, then acting like they owned the damn place? "He's still sleeping. Come back later," she told them in a rude tone, shutting the door right in their faces. She walked off to the kitchen muttering agitatedly. She didn't mind that whole not getting sleep thing, but her head was killing her thanks to them.

The guards frowned at each other and then begin to bang on the door once more. Felix was surprised when he heard a door slam. Yawning, he unlocked his door and headed out towards the front door. "Morning Kana," he said as he walked past her and towards the door. The guards were being really unruly about him being late.

"Mornin'," she replied. "You should tell your keepers, to keep it down in the mornings," she added as he passed to the door. She didn't sound all that happy. Heading to the bathroom, Kana searched the medicine cabinet for aspirin. Great, today she had to train the ANBU, and get them ready for war. Which meant seeing Kymin. That hadn't exactly made her mood better, when she thought about it.

"Sorry," Felix said. "Oh, and play nice with Kymin." Felix teased as he quickly slipped out of the door. "Sorry," Felix apologized to the guards who gave him one nasty look. "She's not gotten much sleep, and neither have eye." Felix walked past them before they could say anything. His hands in his pockets, he headed for the Kage building.

There was a light slam from the bathroom as Felix teased her. That had been Kana slamming the medicine cabinet closed in irritation. He would've done better not to taunt her while she was in this state of mind. Sighing, Kana filled a cup with water and swallowed the aspirin she'd found, heading out to the training grounds. She had to talk to one of the ANBU when she got there about their willingness to possibly be Kage once this one died. But first she'd have to get them started. And now that she was better, maybe take care of that little coward Jun who had attacked her not too long before. Teach him a nice little lesson.

(she's so evil....)

Felix instantly got to work, but as he did, he looked for any sight of Aidelia. The woman never showed up when trouble went down, unless she was the cause of it. Felix frowned. He wondered what she was up to, aside from trying to rule the Rock. Not letting it bother him too much, the silver haired shinobi worked peacefully in silence. Nothing was on his mind at the moment. It was a rather peaceful day, and he was planning on enjoying it.

(Is not! She did warn him...)

Aidelia was at the tower today. The day before she had been on separate orders to stay away from the tower. They were starting to show that she was mistrusted. After all, Tanaka was dead. Her teeth gritted in irritation. That didn't mean this was her doing though! Putting on a calm look, the silver haired ninja walked through the halls of the tower with a folder of papers under her arm. She was heading towards her office, or the space that she was now using as an office, rather.

Kana, considering it was so early, was going to give her ANBU a break. She'd start them at eight o'clock instead of nine today. She could've called them right that moment and had them starting at six thirty, but she wouldn't be that cruel. Either way, she still had to eat breakfast. And then maybe visit the Kage's Tower. And her ANBU that had been on guard the other day. She had to make sure that memory altering jutsu was still in tact. After all, such a thing was no more than a genjutsu of the memory.

Felix went into the building to get some water, but then he saw Aidelia. He quickly made his way over to the silver haired woman. "Aidelia," he said to get her attention. He stepped in front of her. "How've you been?" He asked as he gave her a small grin. "Mind if I steal a moment of your time?" He asked. "It'll only take a second. Aidelia merely glanced at Felix as he called for her attention. "I'm busy," she responded simply. She stopped walking as he stepped in front of her, her lips slightly pursed. "I've been better," she responded coldly. "Yes actually, I do mind. I have things to get done Kuriyama," she stated. Was it his fault she was coming to be mistrusted? She didn't care. She was going to blame it on him anyways. She'd heard about how they'd tried to blame this little attack on the Sand.

Felix started to rock back and forward. "Oh really, well I've been brilliant these past couple of days, aside from the whole building collapsing." He grinned. "Did I mention that was my fault. I like how you suddenly disappeared afterwards. Where you scared you'd get blamed? I told you I was on you side, to an extent." He shrugged. "I actually did all this to prove I was. Who would be so idiotic as to attack the Kage in plan daylight. Especially after such an important meeting." Felix leaned forward, a deadly grin crossing his face. "You didn't think I had it in me, did you?"
