Serenity smiled a bit when he said that he didn't like the word goodbye. She blinked when he said he hoped she wasn't crying. It was like he could see her through the phone. She smiled a bit at his joke. "I don't think there's anything that could make you soft," she joked back, giving a light chuckle. "I just miss you is all. I'm sure the whole tears thing is just hormones," she joked lightly. It surprised her that rather than feeling anxious about talking to him, like earlier, she was relieved. It was...a nice change. He'd just made a mistake. That's all it was. She was convinced of that now.

(Tara always has to mess things up. UGH!)

Felix smirked. "Blame it on the hormones if that makes you feel better," he told her. "And just between me and you. You're the only person that can make me soft, even if it doesn't seem like it." He grinned carelessly. It was so good to speak to her. He had been worried for nothing. What would she think if he'd told her the damage he'd done. Felix shook his head. He honestly felt like a complete screw up, but all the same, Serenity's voice made it better. Knowing she was okay was worth leveling two more floors.

(Please don't do it Felix.)

Serenity gave another chuckle when he said if it would make her feel better. She looked down, but finally leaned back on the couch when he said that she was the only one who could make him soft. Funny thing was, she believed it. "So...how've things gone since I left? What happened at your trial?" she asked, almost cautiously. Would he be staying there? He did say, afterall, that he had to finish his mission. Did that mean they were allowing him to stay on the mission?

Even though Kana had only drawn up a few plans, she felt herself starting to nod off. Her head was pounding. Maybe...just a few minutes rest wouldn't hurt. Pushing the scrolls gently further onto the table, Kana crossed her arms on it and laid her head down, only to pass out moments later.

(Do what?)

Felix looked at the cigarette. It was burning rather slowly. "Things are looking better. I'm still on the mission after some persuading. I do have to do a second trial to figure out my official punishment, but right now I'm their trump card." Or so they think I am. I can't do anything like this. Kana is the one who's really in control. "Aside from that, I was worried sick about you not picking up the phone, but now that I know you're okay, everything is just dandy." Felix grinned.

(Topple two more floors.)

Serenity stayed quiet as he explained that he was still on the mission. So he wouldn't be home for a while yet. That made her frown a bit, but at least it would give her time to get her feelings in check. When he mentioned her not picking up the phone, she acted surprised. "A-ah, you called? I'm sorry, I didn't- it was just, after I got back, I went out with Megan to pick up medicine in case I started feeling sick again," she told him. It wasn't entirely a lie. She had in fact gone out with Megan to get medicine, but that was after Felix had called. "I'd just got back in when you'd called this time," she told him apologetically.

(Compulsive lair)

Felix nodded in understanding. "That's a relief. I wasn't sure if you'd made it home, or if the kids were coming early, or all that other stuff that dad's worry about when the mother doesn't pick up the phone on the first few calls." Felix shrugged. "Anyway, it's no big deal. I'm just glad that you're alright." He looked up as an ANBU begin to approach him. "Well, I have to get back to work, I'll call you tomorrow. Sweet dreams." Felix looked at the guard. "What do you want," he asked annoyed as he followed the man back to the construction site.

(Hush you.)

Serenity gave a small smile when he said that he'd been worried about the sort of things that dad's worried about. She'd wanted to ask him when he thought he'd be coming home, but before she could, he said that he'd had to get back to work. "Oh. Okay," she said, sounding a bit disappointed. "Talk to you soon. And you too," she said, hanging up the phone with a sigh.

Kana, on the other hand, was still resting with her head on her arms, a rather uncomfortable look on her face. Even while asleep, she could still feel herself burning up.

Felix worked carefully and quickly. It felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. When he was allowed to go home, he went without hesitation. He was exhausted. Opening the door to the apartment, he went to the kitchen to find Kana out cold. He wondered how he should wake her up. He would be nice. "Kana," he called. "Wake up and go to your bed." He grinned. That sounded like he was talking to a little kid. He shook his head and took a seat at the table. "Why the hell are all the windows open?" His blue eyes narrowing. Something wasn't right.

Kana merely groaned lightly when Felix called her and told her to go to bed. By this time, her face was pressed lightly against the table. The wood was nice and cool. After she heard the chair move as Felix sat down, Kana slowly lifted her head, rubbing her eyes a bit. "The windows are open, because it's hot as hell in here," she told him, almost irritably. It didn't occur to her at the moment that she was only hot because she was getting sick. While earlier today she would have drawn that conclusion, right now she had just woken up, and wasn't thinking very straight. Had she not been sick, she would've realized it was actually pretty cold in the house now, thanks to the wind outside blowing through the windows.

Felix shook his head in disagreement. "It's cold in this house. You must be sick. Go to bed. I'll bring you some medicine in the morning," he told her. He leaned back in his chair. "In the mean time, you should take a cold bath to help cool you down," he told her. The blue eyed ninja shook his head lightly. Why was everything suddenly taking a turn for the worst? "Don't bother leaving the house tomorrow. You'll only be in the way," he said rather bluntly. He figured that if he was blunt about the serious matters, she'd listen and stop trying to be such a hard ass.

Kana looked at him through slightly narrow eyes when he told her that it was cold in the house. Was it? It couldn't be cold, she felt like she was burning up. And then he mentioned that she might've been sick. That's right, she hadn't been feeling well earlier. Kana clicked her tongue at his statement. "I'll be fine, come morning. I just need a bit of a rest, okay?" she told him. Even as she spoke, she felt a very large headache coming on, and it made her put her head in one of her hands. "If I take a bath now, chances are, I'll fall asleep in it," she told him. "I'll...take one in the morning or something," she said, sweeping her hair idly over her shoulder. She hadn't noticed before, but it was starting to ache a bit again.

Felix shrugged. "We don't need you drowning in the tub," he said with a grin. "Go to bed. If you're okay by tomorrow morning, then you're free to do as you please. If not, then I expect for you to stay here." He gave a dismissive wave. "I'm going to get some shut eye as well, seeing as though I have to be up way earlier than any normal person wishes." Felix sighed. "Thanks for getting me out of that bind." He then pushed his chair back and sat up, noticing the scar that had been left by the Blue Demon. Felix acted as though he hadn't noticed. That's what we're capable of. Tearing apart friends and foes alike. That is not how I wish to be remembered. I don't want to be the symbol of fear. I don't wish to be remembered as a monster. I'm more than that...or am I?

Transfer Mission: The Blackbird's Dilemma - Page 35 Empty Re: Transfer Mission: The Blackbird's Dilemma

Post by The Merciful Overlord Sun Sep 23, 2012 1:48 am

Kana gave a weak grin at his joke. "Yeah yeah, I'm goin," she told him when he told her to go to bed. She glanced at the maps on the table, shaking her head lightly. She'd finish planning tomorrow, when her head was clear. Standing up, she gave Felix another small grin at his thanks. "That's what friends are for," she told him. She'd meant to say 'partners', but the word friends had slipped out instead. She guessed there was no harm done. Pushing her chair in lightly, Kana started towards her room. She didn't bother changing before falling onto her bed. Once again, she fell asleep almost instantly.

And just as she'd said, come morning, she was feeling better. At least well enough to eat fruit for breakfast. It was about eight o'clock, so she figured Felix was sure to be gone already. Getting dressed in her usual ninja garb, she started for the Kage's tower. Her head still felt a little warm, but she was sure it was nothing she couldn't deal with. Upon arriving, she gave a nod to one of her ANBU that was also helping with the cleanup.

Felix went to sleep after a shower and then woke up the next morning super early. His icy blue eyes were no longer bright, but dull and tired. Following his escorts to the tower, he yawned consistently until the guards begin to yawn along with him. When they arrived he instantly got to work with no means of stopping or taking a break. He was glad it was only one floor, but the damage was still pretty heavy. They'd have to lift that floor back up and rebuild from the inside. Felix would be no help in that part. His chakra was practically dead. He wanted answers as to why. This had not been the first time he'd used the Blue Demon. However, he'd purposely used it during those last two times. Felix shook his head. Had he exhausted the beast within him?

Kana too immediately started to get to work upon arriving. It wasn't long until she spotted Felix mixed in with the ninja. "Mornin," she called to him casually. Last time she'd passed by him without saying anything, things hadn't turned out very nicely. In terms of appearance, Kana certainly looked better than the night before. Her ninja clothes covered up the scars on her shoulder, and her hair was back in it's usual ponytail. And while she still had a bit of a headache, she didn't complain about it. It was when Kana started using her chakra to help her move bigger slabs of rock was when she started getting dizzy. So, instead, she stopped using her chakra and called a couple other ninja over to help her. She wouldn't be stupid.

Felix waved to Kana when she told him hey. "Glad to see you looking better," he said with a small nod. He went back to work feeling that this would be a good day. He would call Ser tonight and maybe send her something via messenger bird. He couldn't summon anything, so the Executioner was out of the question. Felix smirked. He felt so much better in terms of mental status. Maybe things would be looking up from here on out. Kana had covered for him, and he could easily get back to getting things back on track. Chakra or not, he was capable of handling political issues.

It was an hour or so until Kana started feeling not so well once more. Though she'd stopped using her chakra, the dizziness was coming back all too quickly, and her head was pounding. She had to stop for a moment and put her hand on a wall. She wasn't feeling too hot. Metaphorically, anyways. She was starting to burn up again, and this time it hadn't been over a matter of minutes, but a matter of seconds. Swallowing, she looked around for Felix. This wasn't normal, and she knew it. For the sickness to come and go so quickly...yes, she needed rest. At this point, she really would only get in the way.

Felix was helping clean up the remaining glass of the ground. He hadn't exactly worked out this much in a while, so he wasn't exactly thrilled anymore. He was still weakened from being in the hospital for so long, and then yesterday's sudden burst of chakra had left him weakened as well. That coupled with the fact that Felix hated doing physical labor, as in cleaning was making his temper slowly rise. Despite his annoyance, he kept working until he spotted Kana who wasn't looking that great. Worry crossed his face as he went over to her and pulled her off to the side. "Are you okay," he asked.

Kana, out of habit, almost nodded when Felix asked her if she was okay. But after a moment, she slowly shook her head, taking in a deep breath. "No. I...have to be coming down with something. Ever since I got my chakra back yesterday..." She swallowed. "I've been sick on and off. Dizziness, fever, I mean, I'm even getting exhausted for no reason. And trying to use my chakra now is only making it worse," she told him. Now that she said it aloud to him, she wanted to force herself to stay and help. But she knew that wasn't really possible.

Felix listened intently. "I don't know what's wrong with you, I'm not a doctor," he told her. "But it's probably your body getting used to your chakra. You've been without it for so long that's it's foreign. Chances are, your body thinks it's a threat." Felix shrugged. "I don't know, but you need to get home and rest. If not, then I'll find someone to take you to the nearest doctor." Felix looked around. This was not the best time to be getting sick. Kana was in charge of this entire operation, and if she got sick, he could do nothing about it. His blue eyes narrowed. So much for the day going well. "What do you want to do?"

Kana nodded when Felix mentioned that her body probably thought her chakra was a threat. She shook her head lightly at his question. "I'm going to go home. At least there I can work on plans for the attack," she told him. Of course. Even if she couldn't do physical labor right now, the ever so stubborn Kana would not sit at home idly. At least, that's what she was telling herself. She should've figured that Felix might not have liked the idea all that much.

Felix sighed. Why the hell couldn't she just rest like normal people. Then again, he'd workout continuously when he'd gotten out of the hospital. He had to cut her some slack. "Kana, just go home," he said with a shake of his head. He would not argue with her. "Do you need me to walk with you," he asked. His blue eyes focusing on her brown ones.

Kana didn't say or do anything when Felix sighed. If he didn't like that she wouldn't rest, that sounded like a personal problem. "I planned on it," she said when he told her to go home. When Kana found that he was looking right into her eyes upon his next question, her mind went blank for a moment before she spoke again. "I...I can make it home fine, at least. Thanks though," she told him with a small wave before pushing herself off the wall with a deep breath and starting towards the house. Why did it have to be so far away?

By the time Kana got home, she was more than just a little dizzy. As she walked in the door, a wave of sickness washed over her, and she had to run to the bathroom before throwing up the small bit of food she'd eaten earlier in the day. At that time, Kana, though still burning up, had started shivering. This sickness probably wasn't going to leave anytime soon, she thought.

Felix let her go without another word. He knew she wasn't planning on getting rest, but there was nothing he could do. When she said she could make it by herself, he nodded. Turning away he went back to work, he would text her later and make sure she was okay. He didn't like how suddenly she was getting sick. Call it paranoid, but if the lead gets sick before the battle, something is up. The Shinobi frowned.

Transfer Mission: The Blackbird's Dilemma - Page 35 Empty Re: Transfer Mission: The Blackbird's Dilemma

Post by The Merciful Overlord Mon Sep 24, 2012 1:14 am

(Alright, let's get this party started! Metaphorically, of course.)

When Kana felt well enough to go to her bed without getting sick every five minutes, she did. If she was throwing up, there was no way in hell she was gonna get any paperwork done at all. So instead she'd sleep. By the time she woke nearly eleven hours later (a little before eight o'clock), it wasn't because she was feeling better. It was because she heard someone calling her name, and footsteps in the apartment.

Kymin had gotten back to the Rock only hours before, and first searched the training grounds for Kana. It wasn't too long after that, he was informed of what had happened at the tower. That there was a rumor going around that someone from the Sand had attacked it. That had gotten Kymin worried. Then he was told that Kana would probably be there helping. When he went there to check, he was told that she'd gone home early, sick. One of the ANBU said she'd looked a bit pale when she'd left. That got Kymin even more worried. Had Aidelia done something to her while he'd been gone? Poison, was his first thought. While he needed to talk to her about the Sand, he wanted to see if she was okay first.

Upon arriving at her home, he knocked on the door a couple times and called her name. While he knew it was late, he also knew that Kana wasn't one to slack off. Taking his chances, Kymin slowly opened the door and went inside. "Kana? Hey, it's Kymin," he called. "I heard you were sick. I came to see if you were okay. I just got back a few hours ago," he called out, walking into the house while leaving the door open only a crack.

Kana pushed herself out of bed with a light groan. She was feeling even worse than before. Even pushing herself out of bed was a challenge. And her head...her head was spinning. But even so, she walked out of her room, leaning on the door frame while looking at Kymin through narrow eyes. "You're sure back early," she told him calmly.

"Yeah well. Wasn't that hard to find out the information I needed," he told her.

"Big surprise there," she said with a shrug.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Kana pushed herself off the door frame, glaring at him. "Don't f-don't screw around with me Kymin. I know."

"Know what?" he retorted, looking confused, but that only seemed to piss Kana off even more. "Know what? You know goddamned well 'what'! I found out right after you left who you are! What you are!" Kymin hadn't noticed it before, but Kana had a kunai in her shaking hand, and she looked more pissed off than he'd ever seen her. "A fucking sand rat, and you used me! None of that bullshit you spouted off was real, and not only that, you fucked up my mission," she swore angrily.

Kymin blinked in surprise. "Woah, wait a minute Kana. Yeah, I lied to you, but I planned on telling you the truth the moment I got back here. But that dinner, the time I spent with you, that wasn't fake," he said. Almost immediately a kunai whizzed towards him, which he only barely managed to dodge.

"I'll fucking kill you...don't you lie to me and expect that I'll believe anything you say," she growled, her teeth clenched. When Kymin tried to slowly approach her, his hands in front of him to show he meant no harm, he started to speak, only to be cut off when Kana tried to slash him with another kunai. Kymin stepped back, and continued to dodge every time Kana tried to hit him. Something was wrong. She was slower than usual. When she did hit him once, the cut seemed to sizzle, like the kunai had burnt his skin as well. And it had. Again, Kymin hadn't noticed, but there was a faint glow of blue and green around her hand, and not just her hand, but her body as well. She was so pissed at him that her chakra was becoming visible, albeit very barely. And it was actually heating up the kunai.

Swallowing, Kymin ignored the wound for the moment. "Kana, will you just listen to me? I'm not your enemy here!" Despite the fact that Kana seemed to be burning up, and very much dizzy, she didn't stop trying to attack him. After a moment, Kymin dodged her attack, but instead of moving back, grabbed her wrists and pinned them to a wall. "Listen to me dammit!" He finally yelled. "I'm trying to help you here, Aidelia is no longer part of the Sand, I'm here to get rid of her too!"

Despite the fact that Kymin had her hands pinned, Kana managed to knee him in the stomach, then punch him in the face, causing him to fall backwards. "Fuck you!" she spat angrily, her hand clenched around her kunai. Moving to him, Kana pinned him down, her knee in his stomach, and her kunai at his throat. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't," she said, glaring at him through narrow eyes.

"I'm on your side," he stated, swallowing lightly.
