The Last Chapter (Part 4?)

(Lol, good job Jay.)(And oh boy, he finally figured out the oh-so important question, lmfao)(And technically it wouldn't have, because Kalix hasn't been born yet...that sounded wrong.)

"Okay," she said in response when he told her that he was done. Shaking those previous upsetting thoughts from her head, she got up and gathered a fresh set of clothes. She'd throw the dirty shirt into the laundry on her way to the bathroom. When she got into the bathroom, she shut the door and got undressed, getting into the shower and turning it on hot. Very hot. For a few moments she just stood there, letting the water wash over her.

Were they going to be able to pull through this? It wasn't really the problem of her being guilty anymore. It was more a problem of, they just weren't compatible to be together for long periods of time. Short periods of time, yes, that was fine. But years at a time? And in the same house?? Serenity sighed at the thought. Deciding that it would be better to stop thinking about it for the time being, Serenity started washing her hair. It was rather disgusting, some ketchup had gotten in it earlier...

Felix dropped the dirty clothes on the floor and then went downstairs to start cleaning up the mess. It was the only thing to do besides sit there and wait. Picking up the more disgusting pieces of food to spare Serenity the horror of such a task. As he did this he contemplated just what to say to his Captain. He knew the guy would be pleased to know he was continuing his duties as a ninja, but not too pleased to know he wanted to transfer. Felix had other options. He could have stayed in his village, but at the same time moved out of Serenity's house. It really seemed like too much of an effort for one measly year.

When Serenity was done in the shower, she dried her hair to the point where it was damp, but not dripping, brushed it out, and got dressed. She had to take a deep breath before coming out and going downstairs. It seemed like that one moment had ruined their morning. That one, extremely awkward moment. God, how was she gonna face him now without turning colors? As it turns out, she wouldn't. The moment she saw him, her face turned a bit red. Damn her tendency to change colors so easily. "Um...I'll finish up cleaning...if you wanna go eat your cake," she said with a shrug, her blush covered face turned to the side.

Felix simply gave her brief glance. He wasn't thinking that she'd come down stark naked but at the same time, he didn't want things to be any more awkward than they already were. "I can wait," he said. He would not accept her offer that would allow him to escape so easily. He was no coward. Throwing away the last pickle that was covered in....stuff...he moved on to a separate part of the kitchen. "After this I think I'll head off. My Captain happens to be an on the go type of person. If I don't catch him early, I'll have to wait until tomorrow." A pause. "Not like I'm complaining." A grin spread across his face before slowly disappearing.

Serenity was more than glad that he wasn't making a big deal out of what had happened earlier. Or the fact that she was blushing now. Going over to the sink, Serenity pulled out a new washcloth and wet it with hot water, before going to wash the spots that were covered in ketchup, pickle juice, flour and eggs, and picking up whatever tidbits of food Felix might have missed. She paused when he said that he was going to head out after this. "Okay," she said at his explanation. Her blush brightened a little when he grinned and said not like he was complaining. She couldn't help but give a small smile though. Still the same old Felix.

He allowed that little grin to slowly form again as she gave a small smile. It was the little things that counted with Felix. All the crap about big romantic dinners and stuff were more of a girly thing in his opinion. A smile, a laugh. Those were the things that mattered to him. He continued with his cleaning. It was going to be a long year. He could only imagine. A whole year away and then he'd pop up right before their first birthday. He just hoped she didn't have the kid early. Then there would be problems. But she promised to wait.

It took them a while, but when they finally got done cleaning, the kitchen looked just as it had before they'd started the food fight: damn near spotless. Serenity stood up and put the dirty rag into the sink. She'd have to rinse it out later. She gave a stretch and looked around. "Well...that's done," she said with a small smile, her blush having faded by now. Probably not good, considering how much Felix loved seeing it...

Felix was sick of cleaning the time they finished. Never again would he clean in his life. "Great." He gave her a grin and then nodded to the door. "Guess I'm off then. I'll see you before the first birthday." He knew it was a quick goodbye. But that's how he wanted it. He didn't need any building of emotions. No, he wouldn't be gone for too long. So that was unneeded. "Take care of yourself," he said and gave a wave goodbye.

Serenity looked at him as he grinned, and returned it with a smile. She nodded as he said that he'd be off then, and that he'd see her before the child's first birthday. She wanted to give him a hug, a quick kiss, anything, but he was out the door before she could. She waved back. "You too," she said, when he told her to take care of herself. This was gonna be a long year.
